Escape and Avoidance

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO AVOID & ESCAPE FROM IN LIFE_ (1)

What are we trying to escape from? What are we trying to avoid?

Have we brought the hurts and hardships, real or perceived into our consciousness, into the light, so they can be dealt with? Or are we hiding and avoiding that too?

How do we arrange our lives, our days so that we don’t have to dread, avoid or escape?

How do we get brave and take action to healthily confront the things we would rather pretend aren’t there?

How do we get out of the habit of distraction and numbness?

I went on a police ride along with my friend James while I was in Charlotte. It was nuts. James attended the first church I pastored at in 2009–2010 in western PA.

I asked him how he confronts hard things.

His simple response. “Just do it, sitting in it isn’t gonna make it easier, you just gotta do it.”

What do we need to DO today? Take massive action. Do it.
